Well, after a few months of reviewing ECW on ProWrestilngPonderings.com, Tuesday night, ECW had its final chapter. On paper, it looks like the WWE is going to give the Land of Extreme a proper send off. We’ve got the Unified Tag Team Champions Big Show and The Miz defending their titles and a final title defense by Christian of the ECW Championship in an Extreme Rules Match. This week’s ECW was barely better than last week’s, and that’s just because there wasn’t an Abraham Washington Show. The show opened with a video package hyping the Christian and Kane tag match against William Regal and Ezekiel Jackson. Going into this week’s show I thought it would center almost entirely on Christian and Jackson, considering the Royal Rumble is this weekend and they have the only ECW match at the pay-per-view event. Last week on ECW was the ECW Homecoming Finale that saw 8 men enter the ring and one immerge as the new No. 1 Contender to the ECW Championship. That man was Ezekiel Jackson. The behemoth now gets ready for the Royal Rumble in just under two weeks where he’ll take on ECW Champion Christian. In the Homecoming Finale, Big Zeke took out 3 former ECW Champions; will that soon be how Christian is referred to? Can he hope to stop the monster that is Ezekiel Jackson? That’s right, folks it’s time to go back once more to the Land of Extreme and tonight is a very special night. Over the past few weeks, 8 men have fought their way into the ECW Homecoming Finale to determine who will face the ECW Champion Christian. Tonight, Yoshi Tatsu, Vance Archer, Shelton Benjamin, Ezekiel Jackson, Kane, Matt Hardy, Evan Bourne, and CM Punk will all compete in an over-the-top-rope battle royal to determine ECW’s No. 1 Contender. It’s time once again to enter the land where anything goes… or at least that’s how it used to be… it’s time for ECW. And there are only two openings remaining in the ECW Homecoming and three returning former ECW Champions. Chavo Guerrero will return tonight to face Shelton Benjamin for a spot in the Homecoming finale. And the main event of the night features the other two former Champions returning to face each other as Mark Henry takes on the Straight-Edge Superstar, CM Punk. It’s time to once again enter that land where things are no longer extreme, but predictable, and new talent in the WWE work to prove themselves to the fans, ECW.  This week marks the “Homecoming” of Matt Hardy and Evan Bourne.  They hype the WWE gives is that one used to reign over ECW (Matt Hardy, of course) and the other conquered the skies above (Matt Sydal…er…um…Evan Bourne).  So, let’s suicide dive right into an hour of ok but predictable matches, mediocre comedy, and the newest stars of the WWE. The ECW Homecoming qualifying matches continue tonight as the WWE’s resident “Extremists” welcome back former ECW Champion Jack Swagger.  With Ezekiel Jackson and Kane already qualified, who else will move on to fight for the top prize on ECW?  And will Swagger be welcome backed by the ECW faithful?  We’ll learn all this and more as Swagger is first to hit the ring tonight.
