Jerome Cusson is joined by Matt Waters for a discussion on some of the headlines of the last week. They look at TNA’s Victory Road and the subsequent Impact that featured the “ECW Invasion.” They talk about the potential drawing power for “Another Night Stand” before moving on to talking about Tag Wars 2010. They discuss the pros, cons, and potential for the tournament as well as looking ahead to Glory By Honor. They end by talking about WWE as it’s Money in the Bank weekend. Yeah, we almost forgot too. Jerome previews the rest of the week as we’ve got some huge interviews coming up later in the week.

In lieu of our recent podcasts going over many of our favorite wrestling companies, I figured it was worth typing a column with some middle of the year awards and then an examination of the burning questions facing a number of companies. Six months into the year we’ve seen so much. A Monday Night War that fizzled out quickly. The resurrection of Ring of Honor. BDK dominating CHIKARA. Dragon Gate continuing to transform the Japanese wrestling scene while experiencing growing pains in the state. Finally the awesomeness of Pro Wrestling Guerilla. At least some things don’t change. Jerome Cusson and Ryan Rozanski are back for the first part at 2010 so far. They discuss TNA, PWG, and ROH in-depth, all the positives and negatives of each company. Among the topics are Abyss’ character, the failure of the Monday Night Wars, PWG’s rising young local stars, and the concept of the iPPV as a future revenue stream for many other independent wrestling companies. Then, things get a little heated when Ryan and Jerome discuss the MVP of PWG. You the listener can decide who’s right by downloading the podcast right now.

Note: We actually recorded this show just before seeing what the PWG anniversary show would look like. We got the matches down pretty well at least. Download above or listen to live below.

Kevin Ford is joined by Justin Houston for the first 50 minutes of the show as the discuss a number of issues in CHIKARA> They preview the upcoming shows in the midwest and talk about some of the matches added to what may be the biggest CHIKARA show of all time in July. They move on to a discussion on the possibility of World-1 breaking up in Dragon Gate. Jerome Cusson joins in on the fun to break the upcoming Ring of Honor Pay-Per-View down and a brief conversation on WWE’s Fatal Four Way.

Jerome Cusson is joined by the very European Matt Waters for a discussion on the apparent release of Bryan Danielson/Daniel Bryan. They discuss what it means for WWE, TNA, ROH, and DG USA. Then it’s on to PWG results. Then it’s on to TNA. A fun show made even better by the phrase “take the piss out of” being used within wrestling context CORRECTLY.

We’ve likely all heard statements similar to these in our life time, so I thought I’d devote an article to the defense of our shared passion, highlighting the issues the non-fans take with it and the many wonderful things we love about it. Read the rest of this entry

Matt’s Classics

Matt’s Classics for the week is up a day early this week! I’m gonna be out of town so I figured I’d throw it up early. This weeks review is long. Very, very long.
