Justin Houston gets inducted in the Cool Kids Society in this very special episode. First, host Kevin Ford and Justin sit down to discuss two of CHIKARA’s upcoming events, Chikarasaurus Rex and the Young Lions Cup tournament. See which matches Justin and Kevin would potentially like to see, and what may or may not be changed. In addition, Justin expresses his disdain for a particular Young Lions Cup participant. Then Cool Kids founder Brad Garoon joins the discussion as Dragon Gate’s “Kobe World Festival 2010” PPV is run down in full detail. Justin and Kevin close the show as a duo, giving their brief thoughts on Dragon Gate USA’s “Uprising” PPV. Also, Brad’s dinner makes a special cameo appearance.

In lieu of our recent podcasts going over many of our favorite wrestling companies, I figured it was worth typing a column with some middle of the year awards and then an examination of the burning questions facing a number of companies. Six months into the year we’ve seen so much. A Monday Night War that fizzled out quickly. The resurrection of Ring of Honor. BDK dominating CHIKARA. Dragon Gate continuing to transform the Japanese wrestling scene while experiencing growing pains in the state. Finally the awesomeness of Pro Wrestling Guerilla. At least some things don’t change. Jerome Cusson and Kevin Ford take their turn going over some of the wrestling companies that weren’t discussed in part one. WWE, Dragon Gate/DG USA, Evolve, and CHIKARA are looked at. Find out why Yamato is the clear MVP of Dragon Gate, why the success of WWE hinges on the success of the NXT angle, the underrated quality of Evolve, and some very interesting predictions when it comes to CHIKARA. Kevin salutes a fellow Pro Wrestling Ponderer for his wedding and ends the PWG MVP debate once and for all.

Hey, Justin Houston here. I do the Chikara column and DVD Reviews, along with the much-neglected Pushing Puroresu. Now, I consider myself a pretty patriotic fellow. My curtains are all semi-sheer red, white and blue. I don’t eat French Fries or Bratwursts unless they are surrounded by American cheese. I would take a bullet for a bald eagle, unless it was super old or something. While I sleep, I listen to “Toughen Up, Brah”, an inspirational audio book by Dog the Bounty Hunter. I have a back tattoo depicting Randy Couture planting the American Flag on Mars. Despite all of this, I currently harbor a deep-seeded jealously of Canadians in the Ontario area. Dragon Gate USA is coming to Canada this Friday & Saturday, and while any foreigner with a passport can attend these potentially awesome shows (it’s insanely close to Detroit), the residents of America Jr. have easy access to see DG stars like Dragon Kid, CIMA, BxB Hulk, SHINGO, Naruki Doi, YAMATO and Masato Yoshino. Here’s a rundown of what you can expect. Read the rest of this entry
